Media literacy and the prevention of disinformation

The Media shape our perception of the world and its people – a potential that can be used responsibly, but is also open to abuse. Jewish life has been, and continues to be, a disproportionate target of disinformation and hatred. We therefore view media literacy as a vital tool for dismantling antisemitic narratives before they take root, and for promoting a discerning, critical approach to digital information across Europe.

Through workshops, lectures, and outreach initiatives, JEWLIF equips participants with actionable strategies to collectively identify and actively counteract prejudice, disinformation, and hate speech. In doing so, we bridge digital and physical spaces and give Jewish people a voice in arenas where they are otherwise often only spoken about. Our goal is to cultivate a public that, through its critical curiosity and media literacy, actively contributes to the protection of Jewish life throughout Europe.
